Car Inovation : Johnson Controls Concept

Car Inovation : Johnson Controls Concept
Johnson Controls, the U.S.-based supplier of automotive interiors, electronics and batteries, will present a concept at this fall's Frankfurt auto show that will highlight some of the company's latest interior systems. The JCI concept will be equipped with the Slim Seat, which has a slim backrest but provides the same level of comfort and safety as a conventional seat. Rear seats for two passengers fold out at the touch of a button; the side bolsters are pulled into the backrest when stowed to reduce height.

A hybrid digital/analog instrument cluster helps drivers process information faster. The views change as the displays are shifted upward or downward.

A new hands-free digital interface links mobile communications devices, MP3 players and navigation systems to the vehicle. The devices then are controlled via voice or buttons in the steering wheel, and information is displayed in the instrument cluster.
