If the first five buyers of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe are any indication, hot options are going to be the steel hood and the rear teak deck.
The company said that the five cars, destined for unnamed "customers around the world," all have the machine-brushed steel bonnet (hood) and the hand-sanded and waxed rear teak deck. The cars, which start at $407,000, were shipped July 20.
"We are now in full production to meet demand," said Ian Robertson, Rolls-Royce chairman and chief executive.
The Drophead Coupe is hand-built with an aluminum spaceframe and a five-layer fabric hood. It is powered by a 6.75-liter V12 that sprints from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds.
