His Friends All Drive Porsches, He Must Make Amends

His Friends All Drive Porsches, He Must Make Amends
A prosperous-looking customer climbed behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 Targa 4 in a Malaysian dealership in the country's Penang state and asked the saleswoman to let him hear the engine note. When she turned the key, according to news service reports, the client-turned-auto-thief crashed the car through the glass doors of the dealership and roared away.

Unfortunately for him, the 911 ran out of gas only about a mile down the road. The thief abandoned the car, which was then towed to a police station.

But wait, there's more: the New Straits Times reported that the same thief appeared later the same day at the police station — carrying the Porsche's keys, which he'd kept, as well as a can of gasoline — and drove off again in the showroom-fresh sports car. He reportedly abandoned the car a second time when he realized there were roadblocks, and according to the paper, police are still "hunting" for him. The Porsche 911 Targa 4 in question is priced at about $280,000 in Malaysia, Reuters said.
