General Motors' Australia unit, GM Holden, produced the first prototype of the Pontiac G8 this week, ahead of a full production start later in the year. The rear-wheel-drive performance sedan is slated to be exported to the United States in early 2008.
The G8 will be the first car sold in the U.S. based on the Australia-developed new Zeta global GM architecture. For its part, Holden proudly states that the addition of the model will mean its Elizabeth plant is exporting to every continent but Antarctica
