Scion announced its manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) today for the all-new 2008 xD. xD models with a manual transmission will carry an MSRP of $14,550, while models with an automatic transmission will be $15,350.
The 2008 xD draws power from a 128-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic.
Inside, the xD offers front bucket seats and a 60/40 fold-flat rear seat for a level cargo space. More than 40 Scion Genuine and TRD accessories will be available at launch for the xD, including a first-ever Scion navigation system. Factory choices are limited to exterior color, transmission type and optional Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRAC). All other customization will take place at the dealer.
The xD rides on standard 16-inch steel wheels and 195/60R16 tires, and buyers can choose from three wheel covers. Larger wheels and tires are on the accessory list.
EPA-certified as a Low Emissions Vehicle, the xD's EPA fuel economy ratings are reported as 27 mpg city/33 mpg highway for the manual transmission model and 26/32 for the automatic.
The xD goes on sale in early August.
