We told you last fall about a high-output version of the Audi Q7 TDI, from tuning house JE Design, which specializes in products from the Volkswagen Group.
Now, the Leingarten-based firm has added some more serious firepower to the mix, with a special edition of the Q7 4.2. Thanks to a supercharger, a water-cooled intercooler, a new exhaust manifold, special forged pistons and modified engine electronics, output on the 4.2-liter V8 jumps from 350 to 500 horsepower, while torque climbs from 325 to 443 pound-feet. The modifications help trim 0-60-mph acceleration from 7.4 seconds to less than 5.6 seconds, with top speed rising from 151 to 169 mph.
JE Design keeps the vehicle on the road with an electronically lowered version of Audi's air suspension. It also fits 22-inch wheels and low-profile performance tires, as well as a stainless-steel exhaust system with dual tailpipes.
