First unveiled last spring at the Geneva auto show, the TechArt GTstreet is now ready for the road, priced from a cool $333,500.
Based on the Porsche 911 Turbo, the GTstreet takes performance to new extremes. Porsche's 3.6-liter flat-6 engine is fitted with twin VTG turbochargers, high-performance manifolds, intercoolers, sport air filter and a stainless-steel exhaust system with high-performance catalysts. The engine management system also has been reprogrammed.
The result is a significant increase in output, from 480 to 630 horsepower, and in torque, from 457 to 605 pound-feet. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a six-speed gearbox with TechArt short-throw linkage. Top speed improves to 214 mph, and the 0-60-mph sprint takes less than 3.2 seconds.
The aero body kit on the GTstreet bundles a new front fascia with retractable carbon-fiber splitter and oversize air intakes and integral foglamps. There are also flared fenders with large air ducts, side skirts, a rear fascia with a carbon fiber diffuser, a roof spoiler and an adjustable rear wing.
The GTstreet rides on Conti SportContact 3 performance tires, mounted on 20-inch TA Formula wheels. High-performance brakes and a VarioPlus coil-over suspension further enhance the car's high-speed capability.
The cockpit features full leather with color-contrasted stitching, as well as a TechArt sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals and illuminated door sills.
