New Car Review : Suzuki Kizashi

Japanese automaker Suzuki plans to unveil a concept version of a new midsize sedan at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show in September. The company plans to begin building the sedan in early 2009 for global markets.

The concept is called Kizashi, said to be Japanese for "prelude."

To be built in Japan, the new four-door is a larger companion to the SX4 sedan that was launched earlier this year in Japan and arrives this fall in North America. A new midsize wagon also is planned, but it is unclear whether the latter model will be marketed in the U.S.

The midsize sedan, code-named YT, is expected to replace the Korea-built Forenza that Suzuki now imports from GM Daewoo.
