Special Tuning: AC Schnitzer Modifies BMW M Coupe
BMW's Z4, in either standard or M editions, has always been a rather polarizing design. Now comes Bimmer tuner AC Schnitzer with its own rendition of the M Coupe that should dispel any lingering aesthetic admiration. The Schnitzer Profile, as it is called, is no shrinking violet — not with this screaming orange-and-white paint scheme that makes the coupe resemble a Creamsicle on wheels. The tuning house has tweaked the inline six-cylinder engine to produce 350 horsepower and fitted its Short-Shift gearbox and a taller rear axle ratio to nudge acceleration. A sport exhaust system has been added.
An aero body kit includes a new front apron, rear spoiler and rear diffuser, as well as wider fenders to accompany the forged alloy wheels and performance tires — 235/30ZR20 in front and 295/25ZR20 in the rear. A roof wing merely enhances the overall weirdness of the package.
