John McClane Special: Nissan Rolls Out Navara Die Hard 4.0

John McClane Special: Nissan Rolls Out Navara Die Hard 4.0
The good news is that consumers in the U.K. can celebrate the new Die Hard sequel with a limited-edition 2008 Navara pickup called Die Hard 4.0 that goes on sale July 2. The bad news is that it's not coming to North America.

"We don't have anything like that planned in the U.S.," said Nissan North America Spokesman John Schilling.

The Navara is the U.K.'s version of the Nissan Frontier pickup.

Only 444 units of the special Die Hard Navara will be built. Nissan said once all of the vehicles are sold, new owners' names will go into a hat and numbers 1, 4, 44, 400 and 444 will be randomly picked and get a free specification upgrade. The additional equipment includes a voice-activated DVD satellite navigation system with a 7-inch screen and a premium audio system with MP3/CD capability.

The Die Hard 4.0 starts at the equivalent of $37,925. A Die Hard 4.0 accessory pack costs $1,500 and includes a front styling bar, rear parking sensors and chrome lashing rails in the load bed. The truck comes in three colors: "flame (proof) red," "eye of the storm gray," and "a walk on the dark side metallic black."
