Audi will introduce an open-top version of its A3 hatch next year. The sporty version will be produced at the company's Hungarian facility in Gyor.
No further details have yet been revealed on the new model. The Gyor site is one of Audi's engine centers, having produced close to 1.9 million powertrains last year. It also produces the TT coupe and roadster.
For the TT, unpainted body shells and lots of components arrive from Germany via train and are assembled in Gyor; then the complete car is returned to Neckarsulm. It is expected that the A3 Cabriolet will be assembled using the same method.
No volumes were announced, but this year the company plans to make 50,000 TT models in Hungary.
