Ferrari 430 Scuderia Preview

Ferrari 430 Scuderia Preview
Ferrari will formally launch a third model in its V8-powered F430 family at the Frankfurt auto show in September.

Seven-time world champ Michael Schumacher will be on hand in September at the official debut of the new 430 Scuderia, which joins the 430 Coupe and Spider and will share their 510-horsepower 4.3-liter V8.

Ferrari says the 430 Scuderia is aimed at the company's "most passionate and sports-driving-oriented clients" and thus employs "light weight, minimum trimmings and innovative technology."

Cutting-edge features on the car include Ferrari's latest F1 software, called Superfast, which reduces gearshifts to 60 milliseconds, and a new system that combines F1-Trac traction and stability control and an E-Diff electronic differential in a single integrated system.

Equipped with this technology and weighing 220 pounds less than the standard F430, the company says the 430 Scuderia "represents the zenith" of Ferrari road cars.
