They may seem like strange bedfellows at a glance, but it's really a natural to have the new Fiat 500 prominently displayed at the Galleria Ferrari museum here.
The new 500 will be a mainstay of the museum's collection through mid-September, as Ferrari celebrates the close link between the two Italian marques.
"Ferrari and the Fiat 500 have something in common, in fact, a great story that started many years ago: The first sparkle of motorsport passion by Luca di Montezemolo, today's president of Ferrari and Fiat, was born with his participation in races on tracks and in hill climbs with a little red 1964 500," Ferrari said in a statement.
The original one driven by di Montezemolo and the new Fiat 500, which gets its formal launch Wednesday, will be on display. Ferrari noted that the new Fiat and Ferrari have something in common: "the long waiting list for both the Ferrari F430 and the new Fiat 500."
"Talk about success!" says Ferrari.
